Vulnerability Description

This advisory covers vulnerabilities discovered in the OTRS framework.

Privilege Escalation

OTRS can be put into an endless loop by providing filenames with overly long extensions. This applies to the PostMaster (sending in email) and also upload (attaching files to mails, for example).

Affected by this vulnerability are all releases of OTRS 7.0.x up to and including 7.0.12, OTRS 6.0.x up to and including 6.0.23, OTRS 5.0.x up to and including 5.0.38.

 

This vulnerability is fixed in the latest versions of OTRS, and it is recommended to upgrade to the latest patch level.
